Don't think you can pay with a check!!!. I was looking for a new salon near me, and they fit the bill. BUT, beware...they do seem rushed when they cut your hair even with no one else waiting, they go too short sometimes despute what you agree on pre-cut,

and get this--they do not take checks! This is not seen on their website, but it is apparently onn a sign on their door which I did not notice going in. So, after a good experience there in a beautiful atmosphere, when I went to pay by check, the girl at the front desk actually called the owner at home re this, then made me wait even longer while she called my bank--after hours--so I had to go through all kinds of prompts at their call center, and then hand the phone to the Maxim front desk girl s she could hear them tell her my check would be good!!! Check out time was at least 15 minutes for me, aan extreme hassle, insulting me and my dignity, and totally ruining any relaxation I had gained by choosing Maxim!!! I might try them again because their pedi area is best in town, buy beware

if you try to pay by check!!! (In this day and age, they should be able to join a service where they make a quick call to verify funds...calling the owner and then the bank was ridiculous!!!)

Good service, Great atmosphere.. I have mixed feelings. I asked for the stylist to keep the length of my hair the same, and to add some long layers. I understand a little bit had to be trimmed, but I'd estimate that I've lost about 2-3 inches or more of length. There is definitely a significant difference. I'm a little disappointed by that, but otherwise, the place was great. They were polite and took my coat and offered me a drink. While my cut may have been shorter than I'd have liked, it was done with a lot of skill. Additionally, It was the first time I've gotten a cut from a stylist who didn't frizz up my naturally curly hair because they didn't know what they were doing. My hair was nice and sleek and well styled after the appointment. I think I would give them a second chance.

best haircut. nailed my new haircut!!!! new to area, looking for a change starting with a new haircut. Called & booked an appointment and right off the line my stylist was awsome. brought in a pic for my new cut and she gave me exactly what i wanted. The place was very up beat, girl that answered my call was helpful when I booked my appointment and the staff very friendly when i went in. Definatly found my new place. Trendy but not stuffy.

A great place for a mullet. My experience at Maxim was awful! I made an appointment to check out the salon because its much closer to my house than the other salon I go to (very poor decision). The so called "stylist" spent about 15 minutes with my hair (inclusive of a cut, blow dry, and flat iron). The "stylist" was very impersonal and on top of that, one side of my hair was about a 1/2 inch to an inch shorter than the other! Not to mention that I looked like I had a mullet! I had to pay 40 bucks for you to butcher my long locks. Long story....I drove to my old stylist who is AMAZING and she fixed my hair. If you want a fantastic hair cut see Michelle at Michael Avery Salon in the south wedge.

Great mens haircuts.. While in the area,I stopped at this salon to see if I could be fit in for a haircut. I booked my next appointment .The girls were all friendly,and the price was great. It is a upbeat atmosphere and plays good music. A nice change from the often "snooty" avenue salons.

Forever loyal!. I have been going to this salon for years.Prior to the opening of Park Ave. I went to the Empire Blvd. location.I am always greeted with a smile,and a cup of coffee. What an amazing staff,skilled with great customer service,and attention to detail. I have been to not only Jennee and Toni, [my personal favorites]but other staff as well.Each and every time I am thrilled. Throughout the years I have referred several friends and family to this salon for various services.I always get great feedback .If you truly want to be pampered then this is the place to go.Thank you for your many years of continued commitment to provide the ultimate salon and spa experience. Great staff,Great service.. I have been going to this salon for many years now. They treat me like family. I am always greeted with a smile,and a cup of coffee.

I have purchased several gift cerificates for friends,and family over the years,and everyone I have sent your way has been as thrilled as I .

I feel so pampered during my visit I do not want to leave. Thank you all for the time that you take with me,and the top notch service that you provide time after time. I would never go anyplace else!

Affordable Haircuts. I am a college student and I have found maxim salon a great place to get a decent haircut for a good value. Because I am a college student I first got a $12 student wash and cut which turned out alright because I just wanted a simple trim. Later I came in for a very short hairstyle cut and Crystal did an amazing job and it cost only $30. I was really happy with it. I am definitely going back and asking for Crystal. She took her time on my hair and made me feel comfortable. Crystal also has done my nails and that was a great experience as well. When I got my manicure from her she offered me coffee, tea wine, juice, or water.

I think this place has good prices because it is on Park Avenue competing with at least 2 other salon and spas on that same street. Park Ave is a really nice area in Rochester and a great place to eat after a spa treatment with friends.

Best skin care specialist.. Amber is very skilled and knowlegable. She cleared up my acne problem. I would highly recommend her.

I would not reccommend getting a haircut there because I found a couple of the girls to be very unprofessional.
