Fairport >Food & Dining > Aja Noodle Co
Yucky. We are your average retired couple who arrived this past week at Aja Noodle around 8 PM. There were only two tables in use the rest were empty. It was about 90 degrees and there were pedestal fans blowing. The fans did a great job of blowing hot air out of the kitchen into the dining area. The floors were dirty with food that had been walked on and there was an assortment of paper on the floor from wrappers to plastic straws. We ordered two different types of iced teas and neither were the correct ones. One menu had some sort of brown sauce on it that a blind person detect or perhaps it was a free sample. We ordered shrimp rolls that was supposed to be served cold because of shrimp inside and they were warm and the plates were so hot to the touch that we requested they be taken away. We ordered two dinners off the menu and both were the wrong order. I over heard the cook blame the waitress saying quote, "it's all your fault" This is when I asked my wife to get up from the table so we could leave. I promptly notified to the staff that we were leaving. I have never been so disappointed in such a short time, fast food chains are better than this place. In short, it was hot, dirty, wrong orders, possible health concerns with the shrimp rolls being warm and served on hot plates and the comments made to staff by the cook all of which was unprofessional. I will make a point to let our friends and family to take note and be aware of this disaster we suffered. If there was a mark I could give, Aja Noodle Company, it would be a place to stay away from. Awful is too good of a rating and one star is too much.
Right Idea - Bad Follow Through. The locations are great (not in overly saturated restaraunt areas) and the vibe and decor is very chill and enjoyable. The waiters could be more attentive. Now for the important part- the food. The menu descriptions depict fresh and delicious sounding asian inspired cuisine made from great & interesting ingredients- HOWEVER what i ended up getting on 3 out of 4 occasions was a dish on the same level of cheap chinese takeout. Too many of their sauces are sickeningly sweet. I have a feeling that the lack of asian culinary educated staff is the weak link to this establishment. (Mostly young white college students who don't seem to have much of a knowledge of asian cuisine at all.)
tastey dishes. This is a great place to go if you are looking for some spicey dishes and good asian fushion food. The thai spicey basil is great and I would recommend trying the cabbage wrap appetizers
