Vegetarians not welcome. I've been to Max of Eastman Place before and loved it. So when my family decided to take my mom out to a nice birthday dinner, I suggested Max. Much to the peril of my poor sister. She's a vegetarian. Although many restaurants have limited vegetarian options, Max didn't have a single one. So we asked the waiter if there was something she could order without a dead animal in it. He talked to the chef and reported back "He will make up a vegetable medley. And maybe some brown rice." Maybe? So we're going to pay $25 for vegetables and perhaps get some rice thrown in? No thanks. I wish we had left at this point. Then we hear the chef and our server loudly discussing the "vegetarian woman" not wanting his vegetable medley. How unprofessional can you be in a "nice" restaurant? The food is good but sadly overpriced, and how do you just not serve a large portion of the population? I won't be going back.

Excellent wedding experience. We just had our wedding reception at Max this past weekend and we couldn't be any happier with how it turned out. My fiance wanted a reception site with great food and was looking for something different than the typical reception fare. Max offers a wine pairing option with a tasting menu instead of a traditional menu. We were able to offer our guests a different wine with each course that included foods such as scallops, filet, and thai chicken salad. Many guests told us that this was the best food they had ever had at a reception. We were so pleased to be able to offer our guests a wonderful culinary experience.

The service was also excellent. Dana the event coordinator, made sure that everything was running smoothly and to our liking. She went the extra mile to make sure we were happy.

The location is also beautiful at night with the white lights from the Eastman Theater shining through the large windows of Max. It's a beautiful urban location. It was perfect for our Christmas themed wedding.

I would highly recommend Max for a unique wedding experience that your guests will love.

Top Shelf. Food is fantastic. Service is knowledgable, attentive, professional. Atmosphere is very nice. Pricey, but nice for a special occasion.

So good. What great atmosphere and decor. The food was amazing and the service was awesome. I enjoyed the wine list and the attention to detail that the staff had. The were like mind readers and had great suggestions. Definitely a great place to go for a celebration as it is a bit pricey but well worth it. The valet parking is a plus!
