better than usual. This is a true British pub with authentic pub stools and all, beer selection is great, and the food is traditional pub fare and has improved much over the years. A good place to hang out with friends.

Best pub I've been to in America. Visiting from out of twon, the Old Toad feels so authentic and reminiscent of a British Pub. The beer is amazing, with a very wide selection, served ultra-pure and at the perfect temperature (that is, if you know how to drink beer). The food is as good of pub food as you'll find anywhere, kicked up from bland English fare but still mediocre enough to not outshine the beer. Service was sparce but kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. I look forward to coming here often!

Awesome. One of my previous professors was a partner in the Old Toad (no longer is), so we decided to check it out. It was actually constructed in England, torn down, and reconstructed in Rochester to give an absolute English feel. The staff tends to be sparse, but are very friendly and helpful when you do find them. The food is excellent as well.

great Brit pub. Rochester's famous British pub, the Old Toad has one of the best beer menus in town, and is an essential stop on weekend bar hopping nights. Also, check out their authentic British cuisine: fish & chips, steak and kidney pie, bangers and mash, etc.

Great Rochester Pub. I have to say that, even though I now live in Manhatten, I sometimes miss the Old Toad. Its hard to describe what wins you over, but after a couple of visits this pub becomes the place you go when you want to feel comfortable. Friendly people, friendly waitstaff (when you can flag them down), decent beer, decent prices, hey what more can you ask for. There's even quiz night on Mondays (at least it used to be on Mondays) just to start your week out right.
