Finally! A fine restaurant that features great German Food!. I've lived and worked and travelled all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland and I can tell you the Clark House is such a welcome addition to Rochester's sometimes monochromatic dining scene!

My wife and I were there on a Friday about 6:00 PM. We were promptly and graciously seated in a cozy booth at a window looking out on the lawn.

Drinks - a nice medium dry Riesling - arrived promptly and we were tickled at the variety of German speciaties on the menu.

Perhaps it was just the atmosphere -- or maybe it was the Riesling -- but the food seemed to have arrived very quickly indeed, especially considering the quallity!

For dessert, we shared a fantastic Tiramisu with a rich Espresso.

One final note: they had live music! A very tasteful pianist added to the warm, but classy atmosphere.

The music and the facilities really complemented the meal.

My only negative would have to be the (sometimes comical) misspellings on the menu. They were innocent enough, really, and not difficult to figure out what was actually meant.

All in all, we enjoyed some great German food served graciously in a beautiful setting. True Gemutlichkeit, in my opinion!

In the short time that we've know about it, the Clark House has become a favorite of all my friends in the German, Austrian and Swiss community -- and these folks can be mighty picky!

Excellent!!. We enjoyed a delicious, relaxed dinner here. The service was very professional and attentive without being intrusive. We were interested in the German menu and had one of the selections - wiener schnitzel. It was a generous portion and came with home-made German-style potato salad which was nothing like the sharp flavored canned variety. also had one of the specials on the menu; 2 huge grilled pork chops covered in Maytag blue cheese - delish! Way too much to finish at one meal. They also had a nice variety of appetizers and desserts. Great value for the dollar. We will be back soon!

Horrible!!!. The place is a joke and so are the kids are running it. I have been there several times over the years. Once the was sold to a corporation it went down hill quickly. The foul language and lack of structure has left a bacd taste in my mouth. I tried to talk to a "manager" if you call him that. He was maybe twenty something, he could not even look me in the eye as he smelled of alcohol and was sweating like a pig. He needless to say did not have the experience to deal with elders. I highly donot recommended the place!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect. Fireplaces, cozy, quiet tables...perfect dinner menu for the atmosphere. Very attentive service to. Haven't had an experience like this around here in a while for the price.
