Don't think twice to have your hair done here!!!. I moved here from the NYC area back in June 2011 and was dreading finding a new place for my hair. I tried another salon in Brighton in Nov. and told the stylist EXACTLY how I wanted my highlights done (with 40 volume peroxide) and she proceeded to do what SHE wanted and used 30 volume plus a toner. End result was that yes, it looked "natural"; however, it also looked like nothing was done to my hair. I was extremely unhappy and vowed never to return there. My hair looked "dull" for the entire holiday season.

Needless to say, I have been reticent to explore yet another new place again, but I could not plan a visit back to my previous stylist back home, so I visited the Michael Spitale salon prior to making an appointment. I wanted to be assured that whoever worked on my hair would do what I wanted.

I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who offered me refreshments while I waited for her to bring the colorist up to meet me. I met with Brittany, told her my story and she assured me that she was a hair colour specialist and completely understood my desire. She then introduced me to her brother, Michael, who would be cutting my hair. He reviewed the style I was seeking and I felt very comfortable with his expertise. (I had been spoiled by using celebrity stylist Max Pinnell in NYC for a number of years)

Bottom line is this...I made my appointment for the following week and I HAVE FOUND A NEW HOME FOR MY HAIR!!!!! Brittany made my highlights SPECTACULAR and my hair looks shiny and healthy. Michael is an ARTIST with the scissors and this is hands-down one of the finest cuts I've had in years! He also is a master with the blow dryer and gave me a stunning style that was so beautiful, my boyfriend couldn't stop telling me how great I looked!

If I could give you 10 stars, I would. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I will definitely be back.

Love everything about this salon. Leah is one of the best colorists in the Rochester area, and the whole staff and salon atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing, inviting, and I have always left looking great at very reasonable prices, Michael Jr did my cut today after leah did my color and WOW! Simply love it..you just can't do any better!

Best Salon In Rochester. I recently moved here from Virginia and one of the things I hated leaving behind was the person who cut my hair. I called Michael Spitale Salon and made an appointment with Michael, Jr., not knowing what to expect. I was so glad I did. He not only did an awesome job on my hair but so personable and friendly besides. Everyone there is very nice and very professional. I would recommend Michael, Jr. to anyone who needs a hairdresser. He's the best!

Client for several years. I have been a client at this salon for many years. Heather is my stylist and always give the best service as well as hairstyles. I am always complimented on my hair and have recommended heather several times over the years.

Friendly and Professional. I have been going to this salon for many years and always leave happy. The service is impeccable, the staff friendly, and Maria does a great haircut. It is very clean and I love that my appointment time is respected and I never wait.

Very Pleasant Experience. Spitale Salon is pretty upscale--- salon, gallery, laser spa, edgy and convenient (right near 12 corners in Brighton). It's all that - but the one thing it's not? Is pricey!

I only became aware of the salon due to initially getting involved with their web site but I wasn't much into the beauty business as it applied to my personal life. Well, let me tell you--- this evening my fiance and spent the evening there, and wow. We left very happy with our new looks! Albert had some laser hair removal done by Alice on his nose, face and brows while I was having my hair low lighted by Danny.

While my hair was processing, Albert managed to slip in for a hair style with Danny. (Can't have anything to myself anymore, lol!) Now Albert looks mad awesome with his new "do" and fresh face, and I don't know what Danny did to my hair (I left everything up to him to decide what color would be best and stuff), but the low lights he put in actually brought some of my natural highlights out and my hair now just -sizzles- with gorgeous well blended color.

Danny was meticulous, just very fun and friendly to talk with. The staff were all just so pleasant, but that didn't surprise me as I knew from working with Michael (Sr.) on the web site that he only works with nice people.

Albert and I were expecting a pretty hefty bill for all the work, and were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it all was. We were treated like movie stars and the bill was way less that we'd planned on.

Great place, great people, great service, great price. Spitale's is the total package.
