Terrible Service Department. Brought Chevy in for service. Service manager was extremely rude. Discovered that I was overcharged for parts and labor. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Jim Barnard Chevrolet they are Bad News!
Great, low key, family run Chevy dealer. I and my family have purchsed new and used cars at Jim Barnard Chevrolet for over 20 years. They always treat me with respect, don't waste my time, and I always get a great deal. I read the first review posted here and was puzzled. I think the reviewer was having a bad day or is from another dealership just trying to trash them. If you can't get along with these guys I don't know where you would buy a car.…
Worst car buying experience ever..
I was in the market to buy a particular model car and saw an ad in the paper that seemed reasonable. (Worst mistake of my life.) It started off innocent enough with a test drive and an obviously
inflated sticker price. We did like the vehicle it had a descent amount of the features we were looking for. The horror began when we went to "discuss numbers". Our salesperson gave us a price that was too high, so we made an offer that immediately was scoffed at. We decided to wait on the purchase and attempted to leave. YES I mean attempted. The manager emerged from his office obviously irate because we had WASTED his time. We were called rude customers even though I was more polite than the manager himself. He belittled us in front of the entire sales staff. At one point he even asked my girlfriend what she did for a living as if to imply it was not important or reputable. While this is all going on I repeatedly asked for the keys to my trade in car which he withheld for over 20 minutes. Suffice to say we barely got out alive. The manager was rude, pompous, unprofessional and seemingly just the worst kind of person. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY OR EVEN SHOP at this dealer, it's shady. The manager even followed us out to our car to yell at us some more for apparently wasting his time before we could escape.
PS. The salesperson had asked for the keys to my trade in so that the manager could "look it over" while we talked numbers. He proceeded to take it for a drive even though I never gave him authorization to drive it. Now immediately after driving off the lot, it is making a loud clunking noise at all speeds. Perhaps this was just coincidence but Im placing my money on the dealer's mistreatment of the car.
Unless you want to be harassed and belittled stay away from Jim Barnard Chevrolet!!!…
