"I love your hair! Where do you go?"
by to85fr at Citysearch
I'm more than surprised by the last post. For the past 5 years I've been seeing Stefania at Metro Salon for all of my hair care needs. Women are always asking me where I go because they love my hair. I've gone from long hair to a short pixie, blonde to brunette, and just about everything in between. I appreciate the consultative approach Stefania takes every visit. She's careful to walk through what I envision, and then share and explain her recommendation to me. Honestly, I always go with her recommendation, because she's never steared me wrong. And I've been to other stylists in her studio as well, all just as wonderful and happy to get it right the first time. If you are busy managing multiple calendars like me, you'll probably also appreciate the reminder phone call you'll get prior to your visit. I highly recommend Metro Salon and Stefania & her crew to anyone interested in looking their best!
DON'T EVEN TRY IT!! Worst haircut!
by Xica Thinks at Citysearch
It's been two months since I got my haircut here and I still can't get over how horrible my haircut is and how I can't even repair or fix the haircut. I waited too long to put this review actually. I just need to let everyone know!
Do not get your haircut here!!! I wished I didn't even have to rate this hair salon. The place is deceivingly nice with a cosmopolitan air, but the haircuts are pathetic. Stefania cut my hair, she was very nice but she obviously doesn't know how to cut hair. She claimed that her specialty was thick-wavy hair (which is what I have), but she gave me the worst haircut ever! I look like I have a mullet or two haircuts in one, and all my layers are bluntly cut. Ever since I got my haircut there, my friends have been commenting on how terrible my haircut is and how I should go somewhere to get it fixed. I obviously wouldn't go back to get it "fixed" there again, because I'm terrorized from my first experience.
At Metro Salon, not only do they NOT know how to cut hair, good luck making an appointment because their phone never works, and they are open a few times a week only. They should actually never open! If I got a haircut with Stefania, the owner, I can't even imagine how horrid the other hairdressers are.
I'm so disappointed!! I spent $60 on a ridiculously experimental haircut from a woman who promised she was going to do a wonderful job, but now I have to wait 5 months or more for my hair to grow back so I can actually do something about it again. At this stage, my haircut is beyond repair.
People save your money and go to NYC if you want to get a good haircut. The hairdressers are liars and will tell you they can give you what you want, but they just want your money. Bloody liars!
Great service and advice, okay haircut

Marianne cut my hair, and I asked for something different within a few guidelines. She found a cut that fit my hair and face types, was easy to maintain, and was stylish. The only problem was that it was a little choppy and didn't fall as smoothly as I had hoped. It wasn't a "bad haircut" by any means, but not quite what I would have expected for the price.
- Pros: Atmosphere, location, friendliness, service
- Cons: parking, overall skill of staff
Best Salon Ever...
by swehr88 at Citysearch
I love this Salon! I am very critical of the establishment I choose to style my hair and Metro Salon meets all of my criteria. Salon requirements: nice website, makes reminder calls, very friendly & relaxed, nice decor, clean, staff welcomes you and makes sure you are comfortable throughout service. Stylist...mine is Ralph...he very skillfully combines my wants with his expertise to have me leaving the salon very happy with my hair as well as having a peaceful experience. Forgot to mention the music...not on my "criteria list" but very nice. Go here, you'll be glad you did...skip the noisy, messy, hectic other places out there and feel good about the money you're spending and not just crossing off something on your to do list...make an experience out of it...treat yourself and you'll be hooked!
Good Haircut, Not Cheap
by sweetbella at Citysearch
Metro is not cheap, but certain stylists are very good. The owner, Stafania, is very good. I saw a couple of other stylists working while I was there and one looked great, the other looked questionable. There is a nice, laid-back sense about this place, and I am happy it is local. The staff is very nice and accomodating.
- Pros: good haircut, nice staff
- Cons: expensive, too few options for parking and late appointment times
