I THINK IM BECOMING PART ITALIAN!!. I've always heard about this place so we had to try it out- The pasta is REAL and the sauce is delicious. The salad dressing is perfect and its not overpriced. Waitstaff is friendly and very welcoming. Its a family run business and its nice to see that still exists. Would recommend it (and do all the time) to anyone-

The old stand-by. Mama Rosa's is a classic pasta joint. Been here for what seems like forever. They are open on Sundays which many places aren't. I find the bar area to be quite interesting and pleasant. You couldn't build it to look like this it just seems to have evolved, but I love it. The rest of the dining room is nothing to speak of but the food is very adequate. Not a place to take someone to impress them with Rochester's best but a great place to fill their stomach with good food. I recommend the lasagna. The sauce is "delish bro!" as one old timer says (usually though when he is getting paid for it or getting free food. If you get any of the other pastas a lot of times they aren't drained well and the sauce seems diluted which I why I prefer the lasagna. The salad is served family style from a large bowl for the whole table, the dressing is excellent but the salad consists of only iceberg lettuce, onions, chick peas and a couple of cherry tomatoes. The buns are homemade and are usually served warm as they are when they are best, if they cool off they turn into rocks. Try the specials they are usually good. I like the pork medallions in a Marseille wine sauce with mushrooms or the pork cutlet Parmesan. Service is not memorable. I can never remember the waitress and whenever you want a coffee refill you have to track someone down to ask if you want more cream it usually requires a second trip back to the coffee area as the creamers seem rationed. Thankfully the tables are large to put the used salad bowl and dishes to the side as they don't often get cleared away. A good meal for a fair price.
