Chi Wah and her staff obviously exhibit the same passion. My hair was cut by Salena. Her consultation was straight-forward and she made the whole process very comfortable. The haircut price was amazingly inexpensive for me (26), and incidentally the same price as the unacceptable haircut I received at a nearby mall. The products are of course on the high side, but I have a feeling that my hair will finally be healthy even with the horrible Rochester water. The front desk staff was incredibly professional. I can't wait until my next appointment.
NOT professional or worth $$.
I will NEVER go back to this salon.
I was charged $100 + tip for a hair cut and blow dry by Chi Wah(owner)
I should have walked out the minute she opened her mouth. She never stopped talking!! She spent the entire hour talking, rather than concentrating on what she was doing. She was so negative and spent the whole time complaining about her staff gossiping and her health and clients she didn't care for. The whole time she was cutting my hair, I was looking at the clock and already planning out where I would go to get my hair fixed!
I've worked in a number of high end salons in different states...the service I received here was anything but high end!! She got pissy when I refused to let her use a razor on my hair. She doesn't put any effort into the blow dry if you even want to call it that, as it was still very wet when she decided to use a flat iron on my hair instead of either blow drying it like a professional and then using a flat iron or doing a good enough blow dry that a flat iron wouldn't be needed. Thanks for damaging my hair Chi Wah.
The cut she did was horribly uneven. I could have let my husband do it and got better results!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
worst experience.
uses a razor for haircut. looked ugly, very disappointed for $100+tip haircut.
color: she charged 10 or 20 dollar fee for consultation just to pick the color - ridiculous, when I refusd to have a consultation session, she said that she did not like a "cheap" customer. during the entire session, I had to listen how she disliked CHEAP customers, it was the worst experience. By the way, she only colored half of my hair; when I came back to ask her to color the other half, she refused to fix it. I paid over 150 just to color half of the hair.
Only if you need a trim.... I went to this salon 3 times and left disappointed each time. The last time I had to go someplace else 2 days later to have them straighten out the mess that I was given at Chi Wah. I found that when the owner was not at the salon that the staff were not as professional as I would like, more interested in conversing with each other than actually listening to the customer. I would recommend this salon only if you needed a trim, not a new style. I would not recommend the salon if you have hard-to-mange hair as the staff seems to need more training.
No reason to get a haircut anywhere else!. Chi Wah is great! Her salon is so professional and she really puts her heart into her business. There are many loyal customers and it is obvious why. Highly recommended.
