43.144881 -77.601343Best Little Diner in Rochester, NY. Fancy it's not, but for the best home-cooked food at reasonable prices, this is the place to go. Owner Pat Hall works diligently in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. No matter how many people are in the place she remains calm and steady creating soul-warming food. Today Pat's attracts people from far & wide for Lunches & Breakfasts. Little wonder. Breakfast cooked to order. Pancakes that are as big as dinner plates served with real butter instead of fake! Quality sausage links, bacon cooked crisply-tender to the bite. My favorite deal is the "Twofer"-two eggs, two slices bacon or sausage and two pancakes served with rich Aunt Jemimahs Syrup. Yum. The portions are generous, too generous sometimes, and filling. Large sandwiches, hand-formed hamburgers, homemade soups, home-made spaghetti sauce, and pork chops are just some of the things you find on the Lunch menu. Everyday you generally find a small assortment of home-baked goodies such as chocolate cake or some sort of pie as well as thick & loaded, chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies, all baked by Howie, Pats Husband. Along with the food comes local color. The dining room is presided over by Debbie Thomas, Pats daughter, who is the waitress of choice. Behind the counter is Howie's domain. Service by both is friendly and homey. They chat & visit with customers as they serve. Artists, storeclerks, elderly, college students, policemen, firemen, you never know who you might find here. Neighborhood people stream in alongside employees of area businesses. Banter among all abounds, whether talk is of neighborhood interests or politics on a national level. There is a comraderie here. Its a place where "everyone knows your name".
