The bridesmaid dresses came in the wrong color (supposed to be pink and were sage green). When i (the bride) began crying at this discovery the owner instantly got defensive and began telling me this is what i picked and i'm wrong not her. My mother came in to help defend me and she yelled at both of us in front of other customers and said her contract is rock solid so good luck trying to get any money back. She then told us if we didn't leave the store she would call the cops and that we were not welcome to come back in her store. I had to go to Davids Bridal that same day in order to have bridesmaid dresses in time for my wedding. David's was wonderful and helped me through a very tough time. I never got any money back for all of my bridesmaid dresses, we walked out short $800 dollars and NO dresses. On top of this, none of my bridesmaids had a good experience when going to be fitted. They had to wait 10+ minutes before anyone recognized them and the owner was very rude and condescending. PLEASE spend your money elsewhere!!!
EXTREMELY stressful to deal with and very unprofessional.
I'd like to share my story of my experience with Bella You, in Rochester, NY. (Irondequoit, NY)
We initially went there looking for a specific bridesmaid's dress, and in the process I also found my wedding dress, which I love. When I went back in to purchase my dress, I spoke to the owner, Margaret Asposto, about the price of the bridesmaids dresses and asked her if she would come down in price to come closer to the prices that were online. She wouldn't match the prices exactly; however, we decided that going with a local shop would be better than going with a faceless online store. So, even though it was going to cost everyone a little more money, we decided to order all 10 of the attendant's dresses from them, plus my wedding dress, and another formal dress I needed, so 12 in all.
Here is the short version of the story, for those of you who would like a quick read.
On February 8, I called Bella You to make sure that all ten dresses had been ordered. I specifically went over who gets what color dress because we have women on both sides of the bridal party. I am quite sure that all 10 orders were in at that time, or the shop would have said
AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!. Wow, this place is ridiculous. I went in to try on a bridesmaid dress and be measured and the first question she asked me was if I was buying the dress there. I was honest and said that I am purchasing from another shop out of town because the bride is not local. She immediately got a nasty attitude with me and said, "Well we are very busy helping our ACTUAL customers (no one was even in the store) so I won't be able to help you." Is this woman for real? Is she really a sales person??!! What a moron. Did she happen to think that in the future I might need something from there or that I would recommend others there? Now I will make it a point to let EVERYONE I know how awful this place is. Don't waste your time here!!
Avoid at all possible costs.. The shop is horrible to work with - the owner is rude, has hung up on me, walked away from the groom's mother, and made the whole experience miserable. Uncooperative, blamed everything that went wrong on the bride, and gave the worse customer service I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.
