Guistino SOLD the restaurant in January 2008. His only involvement after that point was sitting in the dining room. He was not in the kitchen making the food.
However, he is now back at a new location. My husband and I have since been to the new Italian Osteria and have found the food to be even better than it was before. The decor is very warm and inviting. The service is wonderful and the menu has returned. While we waited several months for him to return, it was all worth the wait. Guistino and the new owner have certainly reached new heights.
Italian Osteria, yum!
You must be kidding!

Giustino was still very involved in Jan 08 and would not let that happen. Perhaps you've exaggerated a bit? I've eaten there several times in the past 3 months and each dish was fabulous. The red sauce was wonderful, the house salad dressing was great and the service impeccable.
The hostess/owners treat everyone as family and draw us back each time. After closing down the kitchen, you can stay and sing all night long with karaoke. The chef doubles as a singer and it's wonderful to sit with her after such a great meal.
Maybe you should try this place again. The kinks have obviously been worked out and the food is great.
- Pros: Great family feeling
- Cons: Not on my weight watchers diet ; )
