One of the best. I was introduced to The King and I by an ex-girlfriend, the relationship is over, but I gained a new favorite restaurant.

I have ordered out, and dined in and have always had pleasant staff, good food and no funny business with the bill. The red curry dishes tend to be among the best offered.

Many cities have better cuisine in general but Rochester has a gem for Thai food with the King and I.

Would not recommend. I have never had Thai anywhere so I cannot comment on the quality. I was immediately put off by our waitress's demeanor. It seemed as if we were a bother right from the start. I however cannot stomach rice, it makes me very ill. I asked if they would make any substitutions for the rice on any dish (including the more expesive dishes on their menu) I felt interested in and the waitress said no exceptions. Ok...so not only are you a pain in the behind just walking in the door but they do not cater to you either EVEN if YOU are the one eating it and the one paying for it. I guess there is no equivalent to steamed white rice....cheap and easy. I don't want to pay for something I won't eat. I don't do it in the grocery store, why would I at a restaurant? The food was ok, nothing great. The overall experience was enough to warrant us not wanting to go back.

I love this place!. They have this amazing chicken soup served at lunch time. We always order it, no matter when we go in. We're working on sampling our way down the entire menu. Anytime we have guests in from out of town, we always make sure to go there for dinner. At lunch time, it can be very crowded- but you can still be in and out in thirty minutes if you don't take too long to order. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food at a very reasonable price!

good food, terrible service. was in for dinner with a colleague few weeks back. the waiter taking our order was first of all very very rude. he happened to take away our soup bowls even before we had finished eating them. after we had finished our meal, he brought us the check, but had the audacity to remind us to pay him a tip (this is what he exactly said - don't forget to include the tip with your bill). As I have mentioned before, the food was excellent, but I had expected better service from the staff!! I would not recommend this place for this one reason alone.

thief. This is the second time I was overcharged. I ordered $40 in take-out, put zero for tip, and copied the total on the credit card slip. My bank statement showed $49 - illegal outright thievery.

I always tip well if a waiter or waitress is involved, but never when I pick it up at the counter.

All 3 entrees were "1 pepper hot". The curry was was very mild, the spicy shrimp and lemon chicken were too hot to eat (like 3 or 4 peppers on the menu). No quality control.

I will never eat here again.

average food. i love thaifood so when my friends brang me here i was realy excited about the food. it was pretty average. i tasted my friends red curry which was pretty good but the other dishes just werent that great. the service was really good tho the waitress was a very nice lady and they wanted to make sure the meal was good. maybe we just went on a bad day maybe the food is normaly better

Best place for fast Thai food in Roch!. The food at The King & I is much better than Thai food in most other cities, major & minor. VERY fast service too!

Quick and Delicious. I've not found thai food in any city that I enjoy any more than that of the King and I. And the service is super-fast!

Totally Thai. This is the best asian food in Rochester. I have never been disappointed by the quality and taste of the food here. I try something new every time I go, and I always love it!
