Shady with "not receiving" rent payments - STAY AWAY!.
I've rented an apartment at this agency for nearly a year. I've had some minor maintenance problems (limited hot water, mold around the windows, AC not working on hot days) that haven't been taken
care of despite attempts to have them fixed. I understand that sub-par maintenance is part of renting an apartment and that in itself doesn't bother me.
What does bother me is that I have always paid my rent on time. I've set automatic bill pay up with my bank to send out the check 3 days before it's due (8 days before a late fee is charged). Somehow, one month my rent showed up one day after the late fee was charged.
Not once did Mercier try to contact me to let me know that my rent was missing until AFTER the late fee was charged. I have a letter signed by Cindy Arliss and dated one day after the late fee was charged stating that I missed rent and that I owed $50 + 2$ for every day that I was late. I called and found that my check arrived that same day they sent the letter but that they wouldn't waive the fee.
Had Mercier Realty let me know that my rent was missing, I would have driven over and handed them a check.
It seems shady that the check took 9 days to travel from my Rochester bank to Mercier Realty, and even shadier that Mercier Realty didn't bother to contact me until after the late fee was applied.
At best, Mercier Realty lacks communication with their tenants. At worst, Mercier Realty is deceptive about when they receive check payments. Either way, the tenant is screwed.…
Fair and Square. I rented a townhouse from this agency twice, each time for one year. I never had any problems, I only left because I moved in with my boyfriend, but then we broke up so I had to move out. from his place. And I went back to the same building. That was nice.…
No headaches here. I have been a tenant with this agency for over 9 yrs and I have found it to be wonderful. My maintenance issues are handled well with WC and the office site management has been very helpful and responsible. I have lived here once before and never had issues at that time either. Buildings are older but I find well kept and clean. Lawns are kept and property is well kept. Seeing some of the reports here I thought I would just state that I would recommend the townhouses to family if they were looking. I work with attys that handled landlord cases and in my book I find that Mercier Realty is one of the few in NF that I would recommend. PS Cindy has always been pleasant as well from the Rochester office.…

I'm pretty sure I know who you are -your girlfriend had no problem till you moved in. You were very rude. And - YOU were not on the lease!! And as far as the "possessions" - you knew they were
coming and we recommend (we can't require) you put your things on pallets in the basement. Several of the boxes were empty!
And as for Cindy - um, you would NOT have spoken to her "before the lease was signed" - that is not her job!! And when you curse and swear at someone, they don't have to listen.
Ninty nine percent of the people who live here are quite happy - but there's always that "one percent"
I hope you're happy where you are now - but I doubt it.
BTW - the housing authority had no record of your complaint.…
